Overview
The CAE Analyst II (NVH / Durability) will perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to solve NVH / Durability problems and aid engineering in the upfront design of automotive, aerospace, entertainment, and industrial segments. The role involves building FEA models, conducting CAE analysis, and providing engineering solutions through detailed reporting and data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
Build NVH / Durability models for various applications using commercial CAE tools such as Nastran, Abaqus, OptiStruct, and ANSYS.
Run NVH / Durability simulations (linear, non‑linear, dynamic), post‑process results, and provide engineering solutions.
Develop and present detailed reports during customer meetings.
Develop Python scripts for workflow automation.
Manage analysis files according to company data‑retention policies.
Collaborate with various groups within the CAE department to enhance predictive accuracy.
Execute projects with minimum guidance, including direct communication with customers and developing effective design solutions using CAE tools.
Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery.
Support new technology and process development.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in Finite Element Analysis, Strength of Materials, Mechanical Behavior of Metals and Plastics & Composites, Noise & Vibration.
Experience in linear, non‑linear, and dynamic structural FEA modeling and analysis.
1–3 years of NVH & Durability modeling experience building FEA models using tools such as ANSA or Hypermesh.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master of Science or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in Finite Element Analysis, Strength of Materials, Mechanical Behavior of Metals and Plastics & Composites.
Experience writing process automation using Python, Excel VBA, or C functions.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency allowing compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
Experience performing analysis of complex full vehicle models.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of mechanical systems and vehicle structures, including load cases and principles for NVH & Durability development.
Attention to detail and ability to use hand calculations and free body diagrams to validate inputs and results; strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
Excellent problem‑solving ability with initiative to research solutions for new challenges.
Software skills in finite element pre‑processors, solvers, and post‑processors (e.g., Altair HyperWorks, ANSA, and META).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Familiarity with FEA/fatigue simulation software packages such as Nastran, Abaqus, and nCode.
Software skills in finite element pre‑processors and post‑processors (e.g., Altair HyperWorks, ANSA, and META).
Experience with real‑world data integration and experimental validation.
