Document Configuration Management Quality Analyst 2/3 (Quality Assurance Analyst 2/3)
Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to support all aspects of quality assurance related to document configuration management (DCM) for weapon production definition. This on‑site position will report directly to the DCM team leader and the W‑8 group leader.
What You Will Do
Interact with system engineers, physicists, technicians, and designers to develop and manage documentation for nuclear weapons programs.
Ensure all documents related to weapon systems are current, accurate, and complete.
Perform document review, formatting, technical editing, and coordinate the formal release process on both the yellow and red networks.
Align QA work with the Engineering Authorization QA team and assist in updating procedures, training documents, and templates.
Operate independently, exercising initiative and managing multiple tasks and stakeholders with changing priorities.
For Quality Assurance Analyst Level 3: Demonstrate expert‑level document processing skills, lead and motivate the DCM team, and support team member growth and development.
What You Need Minimum Job Requirements
QA Experience:
Process documents and ensure that end products meet quality specifications; expert knowledge of editorial review, proofreading, and technical document accuracy.
Data Management:
Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and product data management tools; experience managing classified and unclassified materials and media, configuration management, and quality control.
Personal Leadership:
Collaborate with LANL management, guide configuration management efforts from conception to release, and support high‑level deliverables in a timely manner.
Communication and Teamwork:
Build strong stakeholder relations, adhere to security requirements, and demonstrate clear oral and written communication.
Leadership Experience:
Interact within a large team, support stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, and ensure high‑quality service.

Advanced QA processing experience.
Advanced data management capabilities.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and stakeholder focus under pressure.
Education and Experience
Level 2: Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of related experience (or equivalent education and experience).
Level 3: Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of related experience (post‑graduate coursework desirable).
Desired Qualifications
Experience with the engineering authorization system, e.g., EALink, ThingWorx, and PDMLink.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Project, and Visio.
Extensive knowledge of configuration management.
Expertise in managing classified materials and electronic media.
Derivative Classifier (DC) experience.
Active DOE Q‑Clearance and Sigma 15 authorization.
Work Location The position is located onsite in Los Alamos, NM.
Position Commitment Regular appointment employees must serve a period of continuous service in their current position to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. The commitment for this position is one year.
