Desirable Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience analyzing data, finding trends, and preparing clear, concise reports. Experience with spreadsheets/databases, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and managing large data sets is required. Strong attention to detail and ability to verify information for accuracy are essential. The candidate should also have strong writing skills for reports, policies, and procedures.
Department or School Site There are numerous vacancies located at the central office in Downtown Los Angeles.
Important Note : Incumbents hired for this job must report to work on‑site five days a week.
Job Duties / Responsibilities An
Administrative Analyst
performs a variety of journey‑level duties focused on the analysis of systems and procedures, organization and management, workflow and distribution, workflow simplification, and efficiency improvement.
Typical Duties for This Position Include
Conduct studies and write reports related to policies, procedures, organizational structure, cost effectiveness, communications, work methods, and needed support services.
Conduct work distribution, workload, work simplification, and office layout studies, and prepare organization and workflow charts.
Prepare or assist in compiling and writing reports in statistical, graphic, or narrative form.
Design, format, and implement new forms, bulletins, and manuals.
Investigate and make recommendations regarding divisional and interdivisional operations and administrative problems, and assist operating officials in applying approved recommendations.

Education & Minimum Requirements Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree, including completion of at least 12 semester units or equivalent in organization and management, computer science, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, research techniques, business, personnel, communication, and/or public administration.
Experience in an administrative staff or professional‑level LAUSD position with responsibility for project management, studies, reports, or recommendations related to the analysis of systems and procedures, organization and management, workflow distribution, work simplification, and improvement in efficiency may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
Experience Two years of experience in an administrative staff or professional‑level position involving the review, analysis, and preparation of recommendations related to work systems, methods, and procedures; organization and staffing; communications and records controls; personnel administration; financial administration; or other administrative matters. A master’s degree may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.
Special Requirements A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of California and the use of a motor vehicle, or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation.
Some positions in this class have been designated as "confidential," exempt from bargaining units.

Vacation : Full‑time employees earn up to two weeks of paid vacation to start. Three weeks after five years of year‑round paid service.

Employment Selection Process We anticipate receiving many well‑qualified applicants; a competitive process will be used. The hiring department has requested an expeditious and timely assessment schedule.
The assessment will tentatively include a computerized multiple‑choice test, computerized skills aptitude tests, and a scored questionnaire validation.
Candidates may be invited to the first test part regardless of minimum qualifications. Candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifications will be disqualified after the test.
Failure to submit required forms before the given deadline will result in withdrawal from the selection process.
Candidates who receive a failing score on any test module will NOT be eligible to move forward.
At the time of the test, you will be required to present an unexpired government picture identification.
If you are unable to attend the scheduled test, rescheduling is NOT guaranteed.
