Kleinfelder’s Environmental team is looking for a dedicated Wetland Specialist to assist on transportation, energy, and commercial projects. The role will involve field assessments, permitting, mitigation planning, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities
Conduct field delineations of Waters of the U.S. (including wetlands) based on USACE standards. Perform habitat assessments for threatened and endangered species. Plan stream and wetland mitigation strategies. Monitor mitigation sites. Prepare Section 404 permits and related documentation. Develop and write various reports and NEPA documentation. Support environmental site assessments and regulatory compliance activities. Assist with business development and proposal development. Qualifications
B.S. in Environmental, Biological, Ecological Sciences or related field. 4–8+ years of environmental fieldwork and reporting experience. Strong background in plant and wildlife identification, soil evaluation, hydrology, GPS use, mitigation planning, and permit preparation. Ability to work year‑round in adverse field conditions. Excellent writing, communication, and attention to detail. Experience with regulatory compliance and client‑specific requirements. Travel is required (typically short‑term). The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to contribute to diverse project types. Benefits
