Position Overview DevSecOps / Azure DevOps / OpenShift Engineer – State of Michigan DHHS
Duration:
1 year (possible extension)
Work Location:
Hybrid – On-site 2 days per week
Candidate Location Requirement:
Must be local within approximately 2 hours of Lansing, MI at time of application.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain Azure DevOps components including pipelines (CI/CD), Git repositories and branching strategies, work item structures, wikis, standards, and DevOps processes.
Automate CI/CD workflows across:
Red Hat OpenShift (OCP)
Linux and Windows environments
SQL Server and Oracle databases
Build and deploy Java and .NET applications using ADO pipelines integrated with:
Apache Tomcat
JBoss
SQL Server, Oracle
Windows and Linux platforms
Administer and troubleshoot Red Hat OpenShift v4 environments:
Build and deployment configurations
Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs)
Develop and manage:
Docker and Source‑to‑Image (S2I) images
Helm charts
StatefulSets and container orchestration
Maintain Docker image repositories (e.g., Quay) and deploy, upgrade, and maintain platform components in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
Administer and support Elastic Stack (ELK) v8.x or higher:
Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana
Performance tuning and index retention
Logstash pipelines and grok filters
Elastic Beats (Filebeat, Heartbeat)
Integrate security and quality tools into CI/CD pipelines:
SonarQube
Coverity
Black Duck
Develop and maintain scripts using Linux shell scripting (.ksh, bash), Python, and debug Java application issues.
Apply working knowledge of SSL/TLS, TCP/IP networking, LDAP authentication.
Create and maintain technical documentation for automation and operational processes.
Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
5‑8+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Linux shell scripting.
3‑5+ years of experience in application containerization management.
3‑5+ years of experience in DevSecOps practices, infrastructure, and scripting/programming.
