BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking Electronic Warfare (EW) Sensor Systems Engineers with 3+ years’ experience to work with the Multi‑Spectral Defensive Electronic Warfare Systems Support Activity (MDEWSSA) Integrated Product Team (IPT) at NAVAIR Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA. Salary The typical annual salary range for this position is $100,000.00 USD to $150,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
Responsibilities
Analyze electronic intelligence (ELINT) data to reprogram various EW Sensors
Formulate approaches to solve technical issues with the EW systems and troubleshoot system behavior through examining recorded data
Develop threat libraries for EW systems
Perform threats analysis and mission requirements to design, program, and unit level test of the threat libraries
Work simultaneously in several EW areas such as radar warning, missile warning and electronic countermeasure systems
Generate documentation and conduct reviews in accordance with the MDEWSSA Integrated Product Team (IPT) processes
Develop operational systems concepts, performing system trade studies, originating design concepts, and performing systems level test and integration test for highly complex systems
Evaluate EW suite performance, capabilities, and operational applications
Perform integration activities across multiple EW aircraft platforms (i.e. F/A-18A-F, EA-18G, MQ-25, MV-22, H-1, and MH-60R/S)
Perform sensor engineering to establish and implement optimum threat data profiles in Mission Data Files
Conduct mission data performance tests against simulation packages to ensure proper detections, and identifications
Generate/update the required technical documentation (e.g., User Manual, Test Reports, Version Description Documents)
Prepare and/or conduct briefing for technical reviews and meetings
Prepare and provide training to different level of Military Aircrew personnel, other DoD agencies on performance of the EW system and use of development tools
Investigate defects/discrepancies and document System Anomaly Reports (SARs)
Troubleshoot and investigate mission data and Operational Flight Program (OFP) integration issues, determine root cause
Support aircraft flight test activities and post flight analysis
Support EW suite integration testing and troubleshooting
Participate in training on-the-job for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) sanitization
Qualifications
Between 3+ years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description
This position will require technical creativity, innovation, and development of concepts from EW gap analysis to white paper proposal to implementation of ideas to address the EW gaps
Qualified to analyze and interpret INTEL data from various sources and understand threats characteristics
Experience with EW systems, designing, and making trade‑off decisions
Familiar with laboratory RF simulators and test equipment
Software‑related experience with Visual Studio to program in C++ and C#; and IntelliJ for programming in Java is a plus
Basic knowledge of radar and communication systems
Experience with signal processing, MATLAB proficiencies
Ability to work independently, in a team environment, or lead a small team
Familiar with operations and applications of the EW suite
Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Project, MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—Verbal, non‑verbal, written, and listening—for staff, customer, and organizational level communications, both formal and informal From the statement of work.
Education BS or BA degree in Systems Engineering or a relevant technical discipline. An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant associate degree. Between 3 to 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description.
Clearance Applicant must have an active DoD Secret Clearance. The applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
