Arconic is currently in search of an
Entry-Level Database Administrator
to join the Rolled Products North America (RPNA) Team in Bettendorf, IA.

Responsibilities
Perform system administration for Oracle Linux systems critical to manufacturing operations.
Support Oracle databases (11g, 19c) across development and production environments including upgrades, refreshes and migrations.
Assist with PHP scripts and Pro C for data processing between systems.
Gain exposure to security practices including SSL certificates, SSH file transfers, password hashing, firewall policies, and network segmentation.
Participate in data analysis, data modelling and documentation to support business processes.
Monitor database performance and help ensure system availability and security.
Support backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Assist with database integration with other business systems.
Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand and improve processes.
Participate in compliance and audit activities with guidance from senior staff.
Participate in project activities, including requirements, planning, documentation, and testing.
Contribute to innovation and process improvement initiatives.
Pursue continuous learning, consistent with evolving job requirements and technology / organizational changes.
Key Objectives
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
Demonstrate knowledge of the practical application of systems and technology, including systems architecture, hardware, operations, and life cycle.
Develop an understanding of the business processes.
Demonstrate critical thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Operate within Arconic’s IT standards and conventions; ensure appropriate methodologies, support processes, and procedures are followed.
Develop and maintain strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrate ability to think through complex technical problems and identify and resolve gaps/risks.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Linux OS and Oracle database administration.
Experience with PHP and Pro C.
Experience with Agile Methodology.
Interest in manufacturing systems and business process automation.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Strong interest in IT systems, database administration, and manufacturing technologies.
Familiarity with scripts and coding languages.
Willingness to learn other technologies as needed.
Creative thinking and problem‑solving mindset.

It is in Riverdale in the Quad Cities (Davenport and Bettendorf in southeastern Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline in northwestern Illinois). The Quad Cities is 3 hours south‑west of Chicago, 4 hours north of St. Louis, and less than 3 hours from Des Moines. The Quad Cities is home to St. Ambrose University among 8 educational institutes. Major outdoor summer music festivals include the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival, Mississippi Valley Blues Festival, and River Roots Live.
