As a Technical Adoption Manager (TAM), you will serve as a trusted advisor, driving a cross‑functional, unified customer experience using your technical, communication, and collaboration skills to help our customers achieve their full potential through the adoption of VMware's technology.
Success in the Role
Within one month: articulate customer key business objectives and desired outcomes and begin crafting a joint Success Plan with the customer.
Through the customer engagement, serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring best‑in‑class execution and recommending improvements that add value and proactively drive consumption, customer health, retention.
Articulate long‑term and short‑term goals that connect to the bigger picture of the business, identify gaps, and work on a structured engagement plan.
Complete relevant technology assessments, roadmap reviews, deployment guidance, best‑practice reviews, and day‑2 operations guidance.
Identify customer use cases and prescribe Adoption Guidance and Workshops to further adoption and consumption.
Present achievements and customer progress in regular Quarterly Business Reviews.
Communicate key topics of VMware’s solutions across all customer levels to drive realized value and long‑term strategy.
Continue to grow and enhance technical knowledge (VMW/Industry offerings) and soft skills through VMware’s structured quarterly training programs.
The Work
Leverage proven work experience in customer‑facing positions (TAM, Solution Engineer, technology consultant, IT vendor, professional services, or part of an IT team).
Draw on experience with enterprise‑level virtualization and ability to map additional VMware solutions to the customer’s unique business and technical requirements.
Use tenured expertise with VMware’s Multi‑Cloud products (Infrastructure SDDC, Cloud Environment, Network Virtualization, Automation/Monitoring).
Utilize TAM playbook, delivery kits, and tools to guide customers through: Creating a Success Plan aligned to customer objectives.
Delivering technology roadmaps & assessments that provide outcome‑focused plans.
Providing solution guidance & best‑practice review to identify performance optimization opportunities.
Optimizing operations to ensure alignment with stated technology goals & priorities.
Providing industry insights and benchmarking to realize cost savings and reduce operational risk.
Presenting and communicating effectively and building relationships with CxO level personnel.
Collaborating with multi‑functional VMware project teams (consultants, engineers, product management, support staff).
Use organizational and planning skills to keep track of the customer’s plans, adjusting as needed and driving them to completion.
Help VMware create ‘customers for life’ by collaborating with Customer Success, Global Support, Education, Professional Services, Development, and Sales teams.
Contribute to the internal global TAM community of experts, sharing experiences and learning from peers.
Leadership & Team Culture Managers support teams, celebrate client success, and encourage collaboration. The TAM organization is focused on driving strategic outcomes and delivering maximum value from VMware solutions, while fostering a diverse and unified team environment.
Location & Travel Remote: Home‑based office position in continental US. Candidates must be able to travel up to 30% regionally (local visits, some out‑of‑state client visits, and a few conferences or training sessions per year).

OTE includes Sales Incentive Commission in accordance with relevant plan documents. This position is also eligible for equity in accordance with the equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
