UFG is currently seeking a
Systems Engineer
who will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of key customer-facing enterprise applications, enterprise SaaS and on-premise systems, including systems such as Atlassian Suite, ImageRight, and Concur. This role is essential in ensuring the reliable delivery and seamless performance of these systems while driving user adoption and aligning functionality with dynamic business requirements. By combining strong technical skills with a user-focused approach, the Systems Engineer contributes to the scalability, efficiency, and overall strategic value of enterprise applications across the organization. In general, systems engineers will specialize in one or more of these systems to develop a strong understanding and expertise, serving as a technical expert who oversees the implement, care, and maintenance of these systems are part of the overall UFG technology stack.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: System Deployment & Management
Support the configuration, testing, deployment, and day-to-day management of enterprise SaaS and on-premises applications such as Atlassian Suite, ImageRight, and Concur and other applications.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues with existing systems and application integrations.
Perform routine system maintenance, patches, and updates in collaboration with senior team members.
Partner with the IT Operations team to ensure system reliability, availability, and performance.
Process Optimization & Automation:
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate application-related workflows to improve efficiency and user experience.
Create and maintain documentation, usage standards, and technical guidelines for application support and management. Apply ITIL/ITSM best practices where appropriate, helping to establish consistent processes and governance frameworks across application environments.
Project Support & Agile Participation:
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous delivery and process improvement efforts.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to application delivery, user experience, and support processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Develop training materials to support application adoption and best practices
Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance user adoption and maximize application value
Job Specifications: Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience in an enterprise technology environment).
Experience:
3+ years of experience in software development, application engineering, systems implementation, or related technology roles.
Hands‑on experience supporting and deploying SaaS platforms such as Confluence, JSM, Jira, ImageRight, Concur or similar enterprise tools.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Familiarity with insurance industry workflows (e.g., policy management, claims processing, underwriting) is a plus.
Certifications/Designations (Preferred, Not Required):
Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals
Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
ITIL / ITSM Certification(s)
Appropriate vendor certifications for relevant technology systems under their purview
Working Conditions:
Standard office environment.
Availability for after‑hours support and emergency escalations as needed.
Occasional travel (up to 5%) which may include overnight stays.
Pay Transparency Statement: UFG Insurance is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $103,222 - $136,105 annually, which represents the typical range for new hires in this role. Individual pay within this range will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, internal equity, geography and market data.
