Organization PMI CHTN

Job Summary This position will require staff to complete training in the following areas:

Consent-Approach patients for participation in research protocols, obtain consent and biofluids for CHTN Donating Tissue for research and Investigator driven protocols (VUMC internal investigators). The position will require staff to work closely with the VUMC perioperative nurses to access the patient for consent and biofluids collections. The consent staff will be required to keep detailed records of the approach to consent, questions that the patient or family have regarding the studies. Consent staff will be responsible for mailing the consent forms and letters to the patients after consent has been obtained and recording the data in CHTN Donor systems. Consent staff will be required maintain accurate records and report consent numbers, quarterly to the VICC.

Shipping- Complete DOT/IATA training. Staff will prepare biospecimens for fresh, frozen, and ambient temperatures. Perform secondary checks on data and biospecimens. Perform patient chart reviews and data extraction. Data Entry(QAQC).

Once training is complete in both areas, the staff member will be assigned one of the operational areas to become a subject matter expert before moving to any other operational area.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Identification, approach, explanation of research study and consent. Patient Clinical data is obtained and entered as a chart review in Donor System

Consent Mailings and IRB required Documentation

Fluids Collection and Processing

VICC Data Collection and Cancer Center Reporting for Comprehensive Cancer Center Status

IRB Continuing review data collection- Assisting investigators with collection of accrual data, metrics and demographics

Forecasting and metrics

Shipping biological specimens

QAQC entry
