Senior 4G/5G RAN Systems Engineer (Call Processing SME)
Plano, Texas – Fully onsite. W2 candidates only; no C2C.
We are seeking a highly experienced RAN Systems Engineer (4G/5G Call Processing SME) to join a leading wireless network team. This engineer will serve as the technical expert for 4G/5G call processing, RAN system design, and performance optimization, working directly with customers to support advanced wireless network deployments and feature development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead
RAN system engineering
efforts for 4G/5G technologies including call processing, scheduling, and feature performance.
Analyze customer requirements, define detailed system and feature-level requirements, and translate them into design specifications.
Conduct deep-dive technical discussions with customer RAN development and performance teams.
Deliver
technical proposals, white papers, RFIs/RFPs, network design documentation, and patent filings .
Drive
field integration testing (FIT/FFA/FSA)
and troubleshoot scheduler and performance issues across customer labs, field sites, and production networks.
Review LTE/NR network KPIs, identify trends, and recommend performance optimization strategies.
Provide
Tier 3 support
for 4G/5G features, system performance, and software acceptance testing.

Qualifications Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
8+ years
of wireless telecom engineering experience focused on
4G/5G call processing
Proficiency in
3GPP RAN architecture, design, and optimization (LTE/5G)
Strong experience in
feature design, testing, troubleshooting, and KPI analysis
Working knowledge of
RF antenna technologies and RAN optimization tools
Ability to travel occasionally for project support
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Experience with
3GPP Rel-15/16
features and standards
