The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a highly skilled and proactive Security Coordinator to support safety and well-being across our three dynamic campuses in Sarasota, FL. Responsibilities

Coordinate daily security operations across multiple campuses.

Serve as the primary point of contact for campus safety officers and support scheduling, communications and coverage planning.

Oversee emergency preparedness and response initiatives, including the planning, coordination and execution of emergency drills.

Provide security orientation and ongoing training for educators and students.

Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

5+ years of security type experience, law enforcement, or School Resource Officer experience preferred.

Florida D and G license eligible required; current Florida D and G license preferred.

Demonstrated experience in security, law enforcement, school safety, or a related protective services field.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and situational‑awareness skills, with the ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgement in emergencies.

Working knowledge of security protocols, access control systems, surveillance tools, and incident reporting/management practices.

Professional presence marked by integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and a student‑centered, service‑oriented mindset.

Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to travel between campuses; CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).

Proficiency with basic computer applications (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office) required.

Compensation and Benefits This is a 12‑month full‑time exempt position available March 2026. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
