We are seeking a Trial Paralegal to join our Minneapolis office supporting our Healthcare Litigation Practice Group. As a paralegal, you are a critical part of client service teams, working side by side with lawyers, co-counsel, and clients on substantive client matters. Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with litigation processes from pre-trial through post-trial procedures, including document analysis, legal theories and strategies, factual and legal research, trial preparation and attendance. Apply in-depth knowledge of legal procedures, healthcare litigation, electronic discovery and document management, terminology, and activities to paralegal tasks. Manage large volumes of documents and data, including medical records, working as a team with internal resources and attorneys. Locate, review, and summarize information applicable to a particular case, person, or subject through online research or document reviews. Review, organize, hyperlink, and maintain document databases and spreadsheets for case tracking, discovery, and document production. Fact cite-check and proofread briefs and legal documents. Prepare, send, and track subpoenas. Work effectively as a team with business professionals and attorneys to collaborate and provide exceptional and efficient client service. Organize, monitor, and maintain multiple projects, as needed. May be requested to perform additional duties as required. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience. At least 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal within the healthcare litigation practice area, preferably with medical malpractice defense experience. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize and exercise independent judgment. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a large volume of detailed tasks. Ability to work with all levels of personnel in a professional manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and data manipulation. Experience with preparation related to hearings, depositions, trials, arbitrations and mediations. Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines both individually and in a team environment. Preferred
Practical knowledge of litigation related software and databases, including Nuix and OnCue. Practical knowledge of medical imaging software programs. About Dorsey
