About the Job Slug-A-Bug is hiring Pest Control Route Managers to keep Brevard County properties pest free. You’ll work indoors and outdoors, build customer relationships, and take pride in seeing results from your effort. As a family-owned company, we focus on what really matters. What You’ll Do
Apply pest control treatments for insects, and other pests according to label directions, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Inspect residential and commercial properties to identify pest activity, entry points, and conducive conditions.
Develop and communicate customized treatment plans and preventative recommendations to customers.
Operate and maintain pest control equipment including backpack sprayers, bait guns, dusters, and company vehicles.
Follow all Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
Schedule and manage a daily service route.
Safely load, mix, transport, and store products and related materials in compliance with company and state safety procedures.
Provide professional, courteous customer service while representing Slug-A-Bug with integrity and respect.
Participate in regular team meetings, training sessions, and company events to strengthen skills and teamwork.

Qualifications Core Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs of pest control products, equipment, and tools.
Must be able to pull hoses for liquid treatments and carry backpack sprayers weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to walk for extended periods across residential and commercial properties, including uneven terrain, attics, crawlspaces, and exterior perimeters.
Must be able to bend, kneel, and crouch for inspections under structures, behind appliances, or in tight spaces.
Must be able to twist, reach, and extend arms while applying treatments or inspecting entry points.
Must be able to stand, stoop, or move continuously for 8–10 hours during service routes.
Must be able to enter confined spaces such as crawlspaces or attics safely and without restriction.
Must be willing to follow all safety and PPE requirements including pesticide handling protocols.
Must have the manual dexterity and grip strength to operate sprayers, bait guns, foggers, and other pest control tools.
Environmental and Situational Requirements
Work outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, and cold.
Maintain balance and coordination while walking on uneven or slippery surfaces.
Must have normal vision and hearing (corrective devices permitted) for safety, pest detection, and accurate application.
Wear PPE such as respirators, gloves, coveralls, safety glasses, and chemical-resistant boots for extended periods.
Tolerate exposure to dust, chemicals, insulation, and pest-related debris.
Safely drive company vehicles and load/unload materials and equipment.
Work in environments that may contain pests, rodent droppings, or animal waste.
Workload and Endurance
Work 8–10 hour shifts with limited breaks during peak seasons.
Must be able to carry and operate pest control equipment for extended periods.
Must maintain physical stamina and focus while performing repetitive or detailed inspections.
Must be able to respond quickly to changing field conditions (e.g., weather, pest activity, customer needs).
Requirements
Work outdoors year-round in Florida weather conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record.
Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
Pass background check and drug screening (initial and random).
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment or product.
Walk long distances and access crawlspaces, attics, and outdoor perimeters.
Drive a company vehicle between multiple service stops daily.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of common Florida pests, including ants, roaches, rodents, and termites.
Experience applying pesticides and using related equipment (preferred, but training provided).
Customer service experience or route-based field work.
Florida Certified Pest Control Operator (CPO) or ID Cardholder license preferred (training provided for unlicensed applicants).
Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
