2026-27 AY Lecturer Pool – Management, Information Systems & Business Analytics
Apply to be considered for part‑time lecturer positions in the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics.
Positions involve teaching in the BS/BA and MBA programs.
Position Details The Department seeks part‑time lecturers to teach courses in Management Communications, Business Analytics/Statistics, and Management Information Systems.
Duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours.
Course assignments (dates, time, modality) are made by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.
Part‑time lecturers receive conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget.
Initial appointments are typically one semester, sometimes an academic year.
Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance.
Hiring from the pool occurs when instructional needs arise.
Required Qualifications
MBA or equivalent; JD required for law‑related courses.
Availability to teach and hold office hours face‑to‑face: 45 minutes per week per 3‑unit course.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree received from an AACSB‑accredited institution.
Five years of related work experience.
Rank and Salary Initial rank and salary are based on professional experience and educational background.
The typical initial ranks are Lecturer A or B.
As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges are:
Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593 – $15,211
Salary is calculated on a pro‑rated basis according to units worked out of 15 weighted teaching units (WTUs).
Example: A Lecturer A assigned 3 units at the minimum salary earns $5,507 × 3/15 = $1,101.40 per check, paid in six checks for the semester.
Applicant Instructions Applications for the 2026‑27 academic year must be received by
February 2, 2026
for priority review.
Applications received after that date will be held for consideration as needed.
You must complete a separate application for each department in which you wish to be considered.

In the survey question “Did you teach in this department/program at Sac State during one or both semesters of the last academic year (2025‑26 AY)?” provide the response as follows:
YES – if you were hired by the department and applied to its lecturer pool during 2025‑26.
NO – if you are new or were not hired last academic year.
Regardless of answer, submit the following:
Cover Letter highlighting courses of interest.
CV/Resume with detailed descriptions of duties supporting teaching qualifications.
Unofficial transcript of the highest degree.
List of references.
