CNC Machinist – Long Term Contract – Houston, TX
Summit Technology Services has a long term contract for a CNC Machinist in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities
Support safety culture and drive a safe-to-start mindset
Align large rotors, gas components, and parts within tight tolerances for machining, grinding, and runout corrections
Program CNC lathes, VTL’s, and milling machines
Read and interpret OEM drawings, REI’s, work instructions, and digital routers
Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T) and basic algebra and geometry
Calculate and set control parameters to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut
Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
10+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced/expert skill level in part, turn OD's, turn ID’s, grinding and burnishing on CNC mill, CNC lathe, NC, Manual mill, Manual lathe, Manual VTL
Experience operating both manual and CNC machines
Experience in gas turbine repair (HSPT, GE10's, Fr3, Fr5, Fr6, and F7) Rotors and component machining is a big plus
Support Rotor shop and Machine shop based on customer needs – steam rotors, gas rotors, cases, gas components, aero components, and value rack repairs
Pay Hourly rate – $22.00/hr – $24.00/hr
