Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

We have partnered with a fast‑paced, market‑leading Real Estate Investment firm in its search for a Sr. Fund Accountant. This individual will serve as a key player in all aspects of accounting, FP&A and financial reporting for Equity investments, including SEC registered Equity vehicles. Other primary duties will include oversight of third‑party Fund Administration and capital activity, while providing acquisition transaction support for various teams. Responsibilities

Performing a progressive set of Equity Fund duties, while developing into the “first stop” for Equity Fund requests and communication. This will include requests from the F&A team for cash positions / projections, requests from Business Development related to fund, partner, and investment performance, requests from Asset Management and Investment teams related to transactions, along with requests from Audit and Tax service partners and other 3rd parties.

Serving as a key player during financial reporting (quarterly / annual) for all Equity investment vehicles, and assist with forecasting capital sources and uses, including line of credit and capital calls / distributions.

Working closely with the Equity Fund Manager to enhance the reporting, operations, and transaction support for the Equity Fund business (acquisition support includes entity set‑up, onboarding procedures, fundings, and necessary legal documents).

Assisting with fund administration, including overseeing third‑party fund administrators and other service providers.

Collaborating with Investments and Asset Management teams on various items ranging from transaction support to onboarding new properties. Working closely with both teams to review property cash flow forecasts and property funding.

Taking ownership of accounting for the acquisition of new properties to ensure opening journal entries are recorded correctly on the property‑level books, while gaining a full understanding of the acquisition transaction.

Reviewing management fee calculations, while documenting all nuances and investigating discrepancies.

Collaborating with Credit Fund leadership (as a secondary priority when bandwidth permits), to learn and develop professionally in the credit fund investment space (starting with transaction support).

Performing additional duties as needed, including ad‑hoc reporting & analysis, along with special projects, in order to support the ongoing development of the F&A department.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Accounting is required, along with 2‑to‑4 years of relevant Accounting or Audit experience.

Previous experience in public accounting / audit (Big 4 or National firm) is highly desirable.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or active CPA candidate is preferred.

Prior background within Real Estate Investment / Private Equity sector is needed, either through corporate accounting or Audit.

Working knowledge of Fund Accounting within the Real Estate sector is needed, along with strong understanding of GAAP and relevant financial reporting items.

Outstanding communication skills are needed (both written and verbal), along with strong interpersonal and team‑leadership skills.
