Scope and Purpose of Position Under general supervision, the Food Pantry Coordinator / Office Aide supports the Corps Officer(s) in a professional, religious, and charitable environment. You will maintain a professional and friendly manner, build relationships, keep confidentiality, and handle matters with diplomacy. You will provide administrative support to ensure the office is organized and represents The Salvation Army well.

Responsibilities

Interview clients for food assistance, clothing assistance, utility assistance, or other services.

Enter client information into the computer data system.

Make referrals and phone contact for clients to other agencies providing needed services.

Maintain accurate and organized statistics and files on social assistance clients.

Coordinate volunteers assigned to the food pantry.

Coordinate ordering, delivery, and stocking of pantry items.

Assist individuals with gifts‑in‑kind donations.

Assist with upkeep and maintenance of the physical site.

Assist with application preparation for funding sources.

Manage efficient operation of the office: handle telephone, visitor reception, mail, and schedule meetings.

Maintain inventory of office supplies and notify the Corps Officer when orders are needed.

Ensure proper filing of correspondence and documents as needed.

Identify and refer clients or others to the Corps Officer for pastoral care when appropriate.

Assist with administration of seasonal fundraising projects.

Assist with other related tasks as requested by the Officers.

Answer front doorbell and direct people to the correct person.

Distribute emergency food to clients as needed.

Assist with loading, unloading, and delivery of food donations and supplies.

Report and file statistics to the Food Bank and other donors.

Provide oral and written updates of food inventory and supply needs.

Maintain proper stock levels and communicate needs in advance.

Keep records of statistical reports and food orders in an orderly manner.

Other duties as assigned by Corps Officers.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills (written and verbal), positive attitude, initiative, flexibility, and dependability.

High level of confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment.

Demonstrated empathy and compassion through action and speech.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Ability to work effectively with minimal daily supervision.

Valid driver's license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.
