Overview We are seeking a

Physician Credentialing Coordinator , also known as a Credentialing Specialist or Credentialing and Quality Coordinator. The Physician Credentialing Coordinator will support the smooth coordination of provider credentialing and scheduling across our surgical centers and plays a key part in ensuring providers are properly credentialed, scheduled, and compliant so patient care can run safely and efficiently.

Shifts available: Days.

Employment Type: Part‑Time (32 hours/Week).

Hours: 8‑hour – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (No weekends or holidays).

Location: South Kansas City Surgicenter and St. Mary’s Surgery Center.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with the Medical Director and facility leadership at both locations, helping align credentialing and staffing processes with patient care needs, labor agreements, and internal policies.

Coordinate all aspects of provider credentialing, including initial applications, reappointments, proctoring, and competency verification using MD Staff or other credentialing software.

Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and organizational policies.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date credentialing records within designated credentialing and scheduling systems.

Partner with leadership and clinical teams to support provider onboarding and ensure timely credentialing and scheduling.

Serve as a point of contact for providers and staff, answering credentialing questions and helping resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus

Associates degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.

Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.

Minimum of 3 years technical/administrative experience, Medical Staff Services Department and/or acute care hospital experience preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology and medical staff services and/or acute care hospital experience, preferred.
