Responsibilities
Prepare and process weekly payroll for 1200+ salaried and hourly union and non‑union employees (11 payrolls—3 union, 8 non‑union).
Review employees’ time input for accuracy and compliance with union rules and labor laws using ADP.
Audit payroll entries for discrepancies before submitting payroll.
Provide union monthly reporting to union contacts.
Maintain all payroll records in accordance with State and Federal requirements.
Respond to employee inquiries and complex issues.
Receive, respond, and process wage assignments, court‑ordered garnishments, tax levies, bankruptcies, employment verifications, and unemployment claims.
Manage all employment verifications.
Assist with payroll‑related projects as required.
Reports To Payroll Supervisor
Qualifications
Degree from an accredited college/university preferred or 2+ years of payroll processing experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing using a major payroll software (ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, Paycor, Workday, Gusto, Paychex, OnPay, SurePayroll, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.).
ADP Time & Attendance experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (VLOOKUP & pivot tables).
Detail‑oriented with ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy.
Quickly and easily adapt to change and shifting priorities with enthusiasm.
Strong problem‑solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline‑driven and fast‑paced environment.
High level of integrity with the ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to stand and walk.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Sporadic local travel required.
Salary: $65,000 – $70,000
