The role is a senior‑level technical position supporting DISA/DoD environments at Fort Huachuca. It is mission‑critical to maintaining DoD systems readiness, cybersecurity compliance, and the stability of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) infrastructure.
Job Duties
Manage day‑to‑day configuration, operation, and performance of IT systems, servers, and applications.
Manage and sustain operations for VMware environments utilizing ESXi vCenter server (vSphere Client), vSAN technology, and Horizon View.
Manage, configure, and maintain MECM, including Management Points, Distribution Points, SQL Server 2022, and client endpoints.
Create and maintain collections, install packages and environment specific reporting within MECM.
Install, maintain, and provide general support for system hardware, software, and networks.
Analyze and resolve issues related to operating systems, server hardware, and applications software.
Detect, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical problems on server, desktop, mobile, and thin client systems.
Conduct system vulnerability scanning and remediation, ensuring compliance through STIG implementation and documentation.
Assist end‑users with system access, functionality, and technical issues.
Provide full‑time, on‑site technical support across multiple environments and security classifications.
Install and configure new software releases, system upgrades, and patches using various means including WSUS, WPP, and MECM.
Conduct system backups, recovery procedures, and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
Maintain data files and monitor configuration to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
Perform system capacity analysis, forecasting, and optimization to enhance resource utilization.
Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and system reliability.
Define system requirements in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring scalability and compatibility with existing infrastructure.
Document procedures, system configurations, and technical documentation.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in systems administration or equivalent military/contractor experience.
5+ years of experience administering MECM/SCCM in an enterprise environment.
Strong background in Microsoft Windows and Active Directory.
Experience with OS deployment and patch management.
Hands‑on experience with VMware environments.
Ability to create SQL queries and manage SQL Server‑based MECM components.
Experience working in DoD or secure government environments.
