General Duties And Responsibilities
Install, terminate, test copper and fiber cabling systems.
Implement, activate, and support CCTV, Access Control, Video Management, and intrusion systems.
Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, test equipment.
Read project drawings, specifications, submittals and develop project implementation plans.
Utilize Excel, Word, Outlook, and associated business applications to communicate/document project.
Maintain safety requirements and support safety efforts of the organization.
Accomplish work in accordance with expectations and ensure national and local codes and industry standards are maintained.
Provide updates to as‑built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.
Attend/hold tool box safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc.
Obtain OSHA 30 Safety and Health standards certification.
Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.
Education And Experience
5 Years of field experience performing Low Voltage and/or Security systems.
BICSI certification desirable but not required.
High School diploma or GED required.
Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, work at heights and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment Employees may regularly be required to work outdoors, be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical and electrical parts; high, precarious places; dust, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions, extended exposure to sunlight; cold and heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
