Adjunct Faculty Position – Computer Science Kean University seeks adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Computer Science discipline. Courses may include Information Technology Foundations, Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Systems, Analysis of Algorithms, Mobile Application Development, Web Programming, Digital Forensics, Computer Security, Java, Python and other related topics. Daytime availability is preferred.

Teaching Responsibilities Adjunct faculty teaching a three or four‑credit class shall provide at least one hour of availability outside of the classroom per week for the duration of each semester/session taught.

For each additional class taught during the semester, an additional thirty minutes of availability per week shall be provided.

Adjunct faculty teaching fewer than three credits shall provide at least thirty minutes of availability per week for the duration of each semester/session taught.

Availability may be in person or virtual and shall be scheduled by the adjunct faculty member, taking into account student needs. Adjuncts may provide additional office hours beyond the required amounts at their discretion.

Compensation

Effective September 2024: $1,975 per credit.

Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.

Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.

Beginning in the 13th semester taught: an additional $75 per credit.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field or ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate.

Teaching experience unless otherwise indicated.

Proficiency in a Learning Management System required.
