IQVIA Information Partner Services team is hiring an

Associate Data Science Director

who will work with extremely complex data and methodologies in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment answering critical business questions for retail pharmacy and wholesaler clients. This role will help mold how our team approaches analysis and builds data‑driven analytics products, provide mentorship to the team, and serve as a key liaison with the client account team.

Essential Functions

Partner with pharmacy retailers and/or wholesalers and their IQVIA account teams to identify analytical and technical solutions, including appropriate data assets, statistical/machine learning models, algorithms and visualizations that guide direct business transformation.

Design and implement stable, scalable and cost‑effective data‑centric solutions to complex business problems.

Clear and concise articulation, presentation and documentation of analytic and technical opportunities, constraints, recommendations and action items to internal and external senior management audiences.

Research and analyze market landscapes and emerging platforms, patterns, practices and methodologies to drive differentiated service offerings for clients and foster greater professional development opportunities for internal talent.

Build expertise in cross‑platform applications of IQVIA assets with a specialization in encrypted patient‑level longitudinal healthcare claims data.

Proactively manage own project timelines, risks and challenges and work out mitigation alternatives with the team under minimum supervision.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of pharmaceutical market and experience with encrypted patient‑level/longitudinal healthcare claims.

Advanced use of statistical programming languages (SQL, R, Python, SAS) to manipulate data and build statistical and machine learning models.

Demonstrable consulting, analytical, interpretative and problem‑solving skills with proven ability to develop innovative approaches through creativity and critical thinking.

Knowledge and experience with statistical and data mining concepts including multivariate analysis, significance testing, regression, decision trees, clustering, forecasting, sampling, propensity matching, scenario analysis, simulation, advanced modeling and machine learning techniques.

Ability to manage client relationships, establish realistic expectations, evaluate and propose strategies that meet client needs, negotiate analysis needs and associated value.

Excellent understanding of handling Big Data along with a drive to learn and master new techniques and technologies.

Working knowledge of large‑scale distributed data/computing tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, etc.

Strong organization and project planning skills, ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision while achieving quality standards and meeting deadlines.

Knowledge of data reporting/manipulation and business intelligence tools such as RapidMiner, Spotfire, and/or Tableau.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, detail‑oriented and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Ability to work creatively and independently to carry out assignments of a complex nature.

Willingness to learn new methodology, new technology and new tools that will enhance offerings for retail pharmacy and wholesaler clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s‑level degree in Statistics, Data Science, IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or another related field with at least ten years relevant pharmaceutical/health insurance/retail experience.

Master’s‑level degree in Statistics, Data Science, IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or another related field with at least six years relevant pharmaceutical/health insurance/retail experience.

Strong working knowledge of advanced SQL and other statistical programming languages, such as R, Python and SAS.

In‑depth knowledge of complex statistical methods.

Familiarity with retail pharmacy and/or health insurance operations.

Previous experience working collaboratively with internal and external teams.

Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $98,200.00 – $273,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job‑related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part‑time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
