SPD Tech (11:00 pm - 7:30 am) role at Nemours Children's Health. Responsibilities
Inspect, decontaminate, sterilize, and assemble surgical instrumentation following industry standards and regulations (IAHCSMM, CBSPD, AORN, TJC, FDA, CDC, OSHA, AAMI). Follow established protocols for preparing and packaging instrumentation, disinfecting or sterilizing equipment, and storing medical/surgical supplies. Distribute medical and surgical supplies from sterile processing areas as needed within the facility. Adhere to standard precautions and use appropriate PPE. Operate SPD equipment safely and according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Monitor, interpret, and document results of physical, chemical, and biological indicators for sterilizers used in the SPD. Prepare and distribute surgical case carts according to physician’s preference lists and perioperative team needs. Maintain inventory and restock materials for sterile processing in collaboration with Materials Management. Comply with organizational policies, regulatory and accreditation standards, and professional guidelines. Qualifications
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required High School Diploma required American Heart Association BLS within six months Schedule
