Position Overview The Interventional Radiology (IR) department is seeking experienced RN or RT(R) professionals capable of independently circulating and scrubbing IR procedures ranging from basic to complex. Neuro-Interventional Radiology (NIR) experience is preferred but not required. Imaging platforms include

Minimum 1 year IR experience
First-Time Travelers: Accepted with IR experience
Neuro IR Requirement:

RT(R): Preferred; requires manager approval if lacking neuro experience
Patient & Procedure Types General IR
Kyphoplasty/Vertebroplasty (daytime only)
Central lines, PICCs, ports
Fistulograms
IVC filter placement
Nephrostomy tubes, nephroureteral stents
Peripheral vascular procedures
Coil embolization
Thoracentesis & paracentesis
CT-assisted procedures: biopsies, drains, cryo (no nights)
AAA intervention experience preferred
Neuro IR
Acute stroke intervention
Aneurysm/AVM embolization
DSA, WADA testing, spinal angios (no nights)
Licensure & Certifications RN
BLS
ACLS
WI RN License
RT(R)
ARRT
BLS
Wisconsin Radiologic License
Required Skills RN
Experience with IR and Neuro IR cases
Ability to administer moderate sedation
Monitor and chart patient condition
Respond effectively to acute situations
RT(R)
Ability to scrub and pan simultaneously
Strong experience with General IR procedures
Neuro IR preferred
Comfort with procedure charging/coding (preferred, not required)
Unit Support
2 Coordinators (HUC/Reception)
2 Lead Technologists
2 Techs per exam room (sometimes 3 depending on complexity)

Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
Hospitalist: 24/7
CNA/Transporters available 24/7

Competency check-off required
Scheduling & Call Requirements RN & RT(R) Call Structure
Weekday Call (Mon–Thu):
One call shift/week
Extend-of-shift until next day at 0700
Weekend Call (Fri–Sun):
Once every 5–6 weekends
EOS Friday → Monday 0700
Call Notes
Travelers take General IR call
Travelers with Neuro IR experience may also be assigned Neuro call
30-minute response time required
Overnight positions do not require call
Shift Options
General IR: 0700–1530
Neuro IR: 0730–1600
Manager is flexible with shift restructuring (4×10s, 2×12s, etc.)
Holidays
None currently scheduled (call only if applicable)
Time Off
Up to 7 days RTO permitted with approval
