Job Description GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervision, marks parts and performs pre-packing functions on castings to assure conformance of casting to customer requirements following established safety and operating procedures in accordance with quality standards. Ensures that documentation, tooling and parts are correctly matched to paperwork.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Inspector Visual (FID) Objective: To set up and perform marking, pre-packing, and packing functions on castings conforming to visual and dimensional specifications on technique cards.

Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work.

Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.

Program, design tooling, and perform set‑ups of pin marking equipment, and offer instruction to lesser skilled people.

Transport castings into and out of FID, responsibility for verification of proper paper work for the area.

Understand the Divisional Quality Policy, identify the location of the QCP'S, Quality System Manual, and OPC's and display a willingness and interest to learn through on the job training.

Identify, mark castings, and inventory area stamps as required by specification, instructions, and/or tech cards.

Count parts to ensure proper number of castings are sent to customer.

Complete all necessary paperwork and records as required and verify correct procedures of those lesser skilled.

Offer procedural improvements to Supervisor and assist other personnel as may be required.

Be responsible for calibration of all equipment in area (maintain appropriate records), and address any discrepancies in counts or improper stamps, following QCPs and OPCs, or out of date marking conditions.

Identify and mark castings as required by specification, instructions, and/or tech cards.

Report any discrepancies, or out of date marking condition to supervisor.

Be able to operate pin marking equipment, vibro‑etcher, and electro‑etcher.

Perform most marking jobs without instructions from the area lead.

Maintain an excellent part marking proficiency with zero tolerance for error.

Successfully comply with Customer Acceptance Criteria on a consistent basis.

Research pertinent data to support the generation of accurate tech cards for the department.

Understand and explain all paperwork associated with the job and demonstrate a high rate of accuracy in completing all required documents, including scrap/rework tickets, PCAR's, DCAR's, travelers, and daily "WIP" reports.

Pack castings according to customer requirements, without direct supervision, to preclude damage in shipment.

Perform all other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Experience and/or training are included in considerations.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, read, follows and interprets instructions on technique cards, code sheets as well as other verbal or written instructions.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Ability to use simple to complex measuring devices and fixtures.

Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19.25 to $28.75 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company’s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
