Job Summary This leader plans, develops and directs the activities of the departments or divisions. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring department and division projects and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
Require a Bachelor’s degree required. Relevant experience in engineering/facility operations can substitute on a year for year basis for required education.
Require five (5) years practical experience in healthcare engineering management, plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare design and construction/renovation management.
Require Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) accreditation, or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer knowledge of cost accounting, projects cost analysis and work scheduling principles.
Prefer understanding of regulatory agencies, requirements, and standards overseeing hospital, business, and ambulatory facilities applicable to responsibilities.
Prefer knowledge of plant management including systems and equipment; preventive and corrective maintenance; and emergency systems including power generation.
Prefer the ability to direct outside consultants in design, construction or renovation related activities.
Prefer proficient with the use of personal computers and software programs as they relate to facility planning, project management and scheduling, budget and cost accounting, spreadsheet formatting, document/presentation development.
Prefer demonstrated understanding of project planning, development and management skills.
Prefer the ability to supervise effectively with positive staff interaction.
Prefer demonstrated effective presentation skills, both verbal and written.
