Asbestos Investigator
We are seeking a motivated Asbestos Investigator to support a wide range of environmental and asbestos-related field assignments across New York City. This role includes conducting site investigations, performing environmental and asbestos inspections, collecting field data, and preparing documentation and reports. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, dependable, and able to manage tasks independently while also working effectively within project teams. You will help ensure all work meets regulatory and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities
Conduct asbestos inspections and field investigations at project sites throughout the five boroughs.
Assist staff with environmental fieldwork tasks across ongoing projects.
Provide both field and office support for environmental and asbestos-related projects.
Manage and track assignments to ensure all deadlines and regulatory requirements are met.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator License (required).
4+ years of field investigation and inspection experience.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 10 certification.
Experience interacting with clients, contractors, and sub‑contractors.
Work Environment
Field‑based role with projects throughout NYC, particularly supporting NYC Agency work.
Join a team of 10–15 Environmental Scientists and Inspectors, with opportunities to learn from experienced staff.
Office located in Midtown Manhattan with a collaborative, energetic culture.
Company-sponsored social activities, including outings and team events.
Any required certifications during the first week of training are provided.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $50.00/hr.
