Pelsue is an industry leader in manufacturing worker safety products and vehicles for the telephone, utility, and satellite communications industries. We recently moved to a new facility in Aurora, CO. There are multiple production areas in the factory, including a metal fabrication shop, trailer and van manufacturing flow lines, specialty vehicle build stations, safety product lines, and an in-house tent shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Level 1 - Logistics Specialist I Shipping & Receiving
Process incoming and outgoing shipments (small parcel, LTL, freight) accurately, verifying counts and documentation.
Update ERP or logistics software with shipment details and resolve minor discrepancies.
Label and organize received goods in designated storage or staging areas.
Basic Inventory Support
Assist with routine cycle counts, notifying supervisors of any discrepancies.
Work closely with Material Handlers and Quality personnel to keep material records up to date.
Carrier Coordination & Documentation
Schedule and confirm pick-ups/deliveries with carriers, ensuring on-time dispatch.
Maintain thorough shipping/receiving records, including bills of lading, packing lists, and manifests.
Support filing of freight claims for damaged or missing products.
Collaboration & Learning
Work under guidance from senior team members, learning best practices in logistics and inventory management.
Communicate issues (delays, damaged goods) promptly to team leads or the Logistics Manager.
Level 2 - Logistics Specialist II Advanced Shipment Coordination
Optimize shipping methods (e.g., carrier selection, freight consolidation) to reduce costs and improve lead times.
Manage relationships with carriers, negotiating rates for standard shipments under direction of the Logistics Manager.
Inventory Analysis & Reconciliation
Perform periodic inventory audits and deep dives into discrepancies, recommending corrective actions.
Coordinate closely with Material Handlers, Production, and Supply Chain to maintain accurate stock levels.
Process Improvement & Technology
Identify inefficiencies in shipping/receiving workflows, propose solutions to streamline processes (e.g., barcoding, labeling systems).
Utilize data from ERP/WMS to monitor KPI trends (on-time delivery, shipping costs, fill rates) and recommend areas of enhancement.
Team Support & Training
Provide training and guidance to Logistics Specialist I team members on best practices (packaging, labeling, documentation).
Lead small projects or continuous improvement events focusing on reducing shipping errors or transit delays.
Level 3 - Senior Logistics Specialist Strategic Logistics Planning
Develop and implement logistics strategies that improve supply chain efficiency and support business growth.
Evaluate and optimize inbound/outbound transportation networks, including cost analysis, route optimization, and carrier relationships.
Vendor & Contract Management
Negotiate contracts or service‑level agreements with carriers and third‑party Logistics partners, ensuring favorable rates and high performance.
Manage relationships with logistics service providers, conducting regular performance reviews and addressing issues.
Data-Driven Leadership & Reporting
Analyze shipping data (e.g., freight spend, transit times, damage claims) to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Create dashboards or detailed KPI reports for management, highlighting successes, risks, or opportunities for optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Mentorship
Act as the primary liaison with Production, Supply Chain, and Finance to align logistics processes with organizational goals.
Mentor Logistics Specialist I and II, setting departmental KPIs, assigning responsibilities, and providing career development pathways.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office : Planning and administrative tasks (carrier scheduling, documentation, data analysis).
Warehouse/Production Floor : Overseeing shipping/receiving areas, possible exposure to noise, moving equipment, varying temperatures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Periodic standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs. when assisting in warehouse tasks.
Frequent computer usage and documentation management.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-time, in-person position.
Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; overtime as needed during peak shipping periods.
TRAVEL
Level 1 & 2 : Minimal travel; occasional off-site trips for carrier visits or training sessions.
Level 3 : Possible additional travel for strategic carrier negotiations, conferences, or multi-facility logistics coordination.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred for higher levels.
Experience
Level 1 : 1-2 years in logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse roles.
Level 2 : 3-5 years of increasing responsibility in logistics or supply chain (carrier coordination, cost analysis).
Level 3 : 6+ years in a senior logistics capacity, including vendor negotiation, KPI management, and leadership experience.
Computer Skills : Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems, shipping software (FedEx, UPS, etc.), and MS Office (particularly Excel for data analysis).
