Job Summary The Commercial Roofing Service & Reroof Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of commercial service, repair, and reroof operations. This role ensures exceptional customer experience, strong cycle times, profitable project execution, and consistent growth of the service and reroof segment. The Manager will oversee a team of service technicians, project managers, and subcontract partners while driving operational excellence, safety, and financial performance. This position is ideal for a highly organized, relationship-driven leader with strong technical roofing knowledge and the ability to develop a service division that delivers recurring revenue and long-term customer retention.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Recruit, train, and supervise service technicians, estimators, and project managers.
Establish performance expectations tied to cycle times, safety, quality, and profitability.
Conduct regular coaching sessions, ride-alongs, and performance evaluations.
Maintain a culture of accountability, professionalism, and safety-first operations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Operations & Project Execution
Oversee daily scheduling, dispatching, and coordination of all service and reroof work.
Ensure accurate and timely inspection reports, scopes of work, and project documentation.
Manage all active reroof projects from pre-construction through closeout.
Monitor job costs, change orders, margins, and production efficiency.
Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, warranties, and safety regulations (OSHA).
Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools to support field operations.
Estimating & Technical Expertise
Provide accurate estimates for repair, maintenance, and reroof projects.
Identify roof system failures, moisture issues, and long-term asset management solutions.
Prepare budgetary options, value-engineering alternatives, and lifecycle recommendations.
Stay current with major commercial systems: TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, coatings, metal, etc.
Customer Relations & Business Development
Serve as primary point of contact for key commercial accounts, GC’s, property managers, REITs, and facility owners.
Conduct onsite inspections and present repair or reroof proposals with clarity and technical detail.
Build recurring revenue through preventative maintenance agreements and long-term service packages.
Maintain strong follow-up practices, communication touchpoints, and customer satisfaction scores.
Financial Performance
Drive revenue, margin, and EBITDA targets for the service and reroof division.
Review weekly and monthly financial reports to ensure performance remains on track.
Implement pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability.
Reduce callbacks, rework, and warranty exposure through strong QA/QC practices.
Safety, Compliance & Quality Control
Enforce all company and OSHA safety standards.
Conduct job-site audits and ensure all crews adhere to safe work practices.
Verify craftsmanship quality, flashing details, drainage requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
Maintain documentation required for warranty issuance and inspections.
Qualifications Required Qualifications and Skills
Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, coatings, modified bitumen, metal).
Experience managing field teams and subcontractors.
Ability to read blueprints, roof plans, moisture surveys and technical specs.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with no accidents or major infractions within the last 3 years.
Education and Experience
5+ years’ experience in commercial roofing service, repair, or reroof operations.
Experience in commercial service sales or maintenance program development.
Experience with CRM/ERP platforms (DataForma, FCS, ServiceTitan, etc.) preferred.
Manufacturer certifications (GAF, Carlisle, Firestone, etc.) preferred.
Physical Requirements
Employees are required to lift a maximum of 80 pounds safely, following proper lifting techniques. For any items exceeding 80 pounds or items that are awkward, bulky, or difficult to handle, employees must use team lifts or approved mechanical lifting devices.
Must be able to climb ladder and traverse roof at times.
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in various types of weather.
