DIET CLERK – full time
Location: Provident Hospital – 500 East 51st Street, Chicago, IL 60615 (online applications only)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours may vary; rotating weekends (details discussed in interview)
Pay: $19.90 per hour
Requirement: Previous diet clerk experience is preferred.

Job Summary Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager and/or Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Diet Clerk is responsible for patient menu management, data collection, and diet office functions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Distribute and collect menus.
Assist patients in completing menu selections in compliance with prescribed diet.
Offer alternatives to menus as permitted on prescribed diet, considering food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
Plan regular and modified menus based on current diet manual.
Prepare and distribute supplements, tube feedings, and enteral formula accurately and timely.
Prepare, distribute, inventory and manage human/donor milk and/or infant formula as required.
Adhere to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies.
Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and TJC.
Complete all required documentation, reports and logs.
Follow facility and department infection-control policies and procedures.
Participate in facility-wide and department Performance Improvement Program and performance improvement teams to improve processes and patient care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
