Key Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and select new suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
Issue purchase orders and manage their lifecycle from creation to delivery.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to ensure material availability.
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or supply.
Ensure all purchased materials comply with quality standards and specifications.
Resolve discrepancies with suppliers regarding quality, quantity, and delivery issues.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing and inventory management.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
Solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory control.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with specific manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, electronics assembly).
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for spend analysis.
Experience with international sourcing and logistics, including customs and incoterms.
