Essential Functions
Inspect raw materials, in‑process components, and finished products using precision measuring tools and specialized inspection equipment.
Work closely with production, engineering, and management to identify defects, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs to assess production dimensions and tolerances.
Perform visual inspections to detect defects or non‑conformities and document findings.
Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate product measurements.
Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and coordinate resolution with the production team.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and insights from inspections.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in quality control, machining, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in a quality inspection role within a gear manufacturing or precision machining environment.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs).
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Familiarity with gear‑specific standards helpful.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and process sheets.
Knowledge of CNC machining, heat treatment processes, and material properties is a plus.
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Manual dexterity and visual acuity to inspect small, precise components.
Comfortable working in a factory setting with exposure to noise, heat, and machining operations.
