Overview We are seeking a
Quality Inspector
to perform inspections accurately and timely to ensure the manufacturing of a quality product in accordance with all required specifications before shipment, while advancing KBC’s mission of being a forward‑thinking, collaborative, and ethical business.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain test inspection criteria for all KBC products.
Conduct in‑process inspections at the plant and/or at suppliers as required.
Perform final pre‑shipment test and inspection of various KBC produced and subcontracted products. This involves use of a portable CMM arm.
Develop and maintain Product Quality Specifications, assisting suppliers in understanding our specifications and requirements unique to KBC products.
Establish in‑process inspection points and identify special fixtures, jigs, and inspection equipment unique to our products. This includes identifying when and where the instruments are needed.
Administer Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and the deviation processes.
Assist in resolution of warranty claims and complete failure analysis as needed.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrates KBC values of personal accountability, discipline, trust, and proactive action.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with at least five years of related experience.
Broad knowledge and experience in fabrication, machining, and assembly and a high degree of technical capability.
Experience working under a QMS/ISO 9001 or other ISO certified business quality system is required.
Proficiency in the use of all typical test and inspection equipment used in the evaluation of product.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, ERP system, and portable CMM knowledge is required. ASQ Certification is a plus.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Anything over 50 pounds requires two people or the use of a lifting device.
