General Position Description The Project Manager leads the project team and partners with Field Management to build a safe, high‑quality, profitable project while beating the estimated budgets and improving the total operating profit margin over the original bid. The role is key to fostering client relations and developing employees. Responsibilities include safe work plans, client negotiations, risk management, cost estimation, contract management, and execution strategy. The PM also manages the full P&L and business development.

Responsibilities

Passionately builds the team by attracting, interviewing, assessing, mentoring, and retaining top performers.

Leads and enforces safety policies and procedures, addressing non‑compliance among all employees, subcontractors, and vendors.

Utilizes daily huddles to promote communication, resolve issues, and share ideas, ensuring projects are expeditiously and profitably constructed.

Leads the development of the project schedule with the Superintendent and ensures the team executes to the plan.

Maximizes cash flow by aggressively adhering to the invoicing schedule, ensuring accurate documentation of receivables, quantity as‑builts, change orders, and claims.

Works to beat labor and other cost budgets.

Produces complete subcontracts and ensures all subcontractors execute to the agreement and the company’s standards, receiving required documentation in a timely manner.

Estimates, prices, and negotiates owner‑initiated extra work, change of scope items, and contract deletions to maximize profits.

Actively develops client relations to generate opportunities for new work.

Participates in Marketing and Estimating activities to develop capture plans, teaming strategies, technical approaches, and bid strategies.

Qualifications

US citizenship required for security clearance.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Track record of achievement and career progression.

Five or more years of experience as a Project Manager on construction projects similar in size and scope.

Capability to interpret a critical path schedule, construction drawings, and specifications.

Success managing complex construction projects, subcontractors, and executing innovative project changes.

Success developing cost to completes, costing and pricing change orders, and maximizing profits.

Background in project start‑ups, subcontractor and vendor buyouts, and owner estimates.

Familiarity with EM 385‑1‑1 requirements and experience in secure facility construction.

Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and P6.

Physical Requirements

Traverse and inspect all jobsite areas in all weather conditions; may require walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling, or stretching.

Lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
