RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports manufacturing by ensuring all dies (and related tooling) are kept in a state of readiness.

Coordinate die reworks with Production Planning, Engineering, and Tool Shops.

Supervise toolroom room personnel – complete reviews, provide training, provide leadership for all tool shop personnel.

Develop new methodologies in tooling construction and maintenance to reduce die downtime and provide better quality – leading to improved yields through the process.

Ensure adherence to applicable quality systems (SOP’s).

Provide key inputs to troubleshoot setters, wax dies and fixture designs on reworks.

Execute and maintain tooling preventative maintenance systems.

Job well done will be measured by improvement in tooling quality (Meeting inspection criteria), on time delivery (as measured by quarterly schedule), and subjective evaluation of impact on scrap in the plant (first pass yields).

Cover die setups at all facilities, as needed.

Other duties as assigned by Tooling Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 8-10 years' experience with fabrication of airfoil injection molding tooling.

Able to interpret airfoil casting blueprint dimensions a plus.

Must be able to use metrology equipment like: surface plate, height stand.

Mechanical ability to disassemble and reassemble dies.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling related problems.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
