Department Overview Silvus Technologies was acquired by Motorola Solutions in 2025 and is now part of its ecosystem of safety and security technologies. With deep roots in DARPA research, Silvus develops world‑class advanced communications technologies that are reshaping the tactical communications landscape. From pure line‑of‑sight to extreme non‑line‑of‑sight, Silvus radios form a self‑healing, self‑forming mesh network, enabling secure and reliable connectivity, including video and high‑bandwidth data.
Job Description Silvus Technologies is dedicated to one mission: connecting those who keep us safe. We deliver the most advanced Mobile Ad‑hoc Network (MANET) radios powered by our custom and ever‑evolving Mobile‑Networked MIMO waveform. Our radios provide vital communications for mission‑critical applications in the harshest environments from underground tunnels to high‑altitude balloons. The Quality Control Inspector II will report to the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor on the OQC team. The role is full‑time, on‑site daily Monday through Friday at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in West LA.
Role and Responsibilities
Perform and document inspections of products and processes, including electronic cables, GPS devices, Wi‑Fi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical components.
Conduct inspections tied to receiving raw materials, parts, components, and fit checks as necessary.
Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
Prepare in‑process inspection reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Maintain quality documentation.
Identify the serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years of electronic part inspection experience.
Proficient with inspection tools (e.g., multi‑meters, calipers, micrometers, microscopes).
Read basic schematics, specifically PCBs and PWAs.
Read and interpret part documentation, including blueprints, drawings, schematics.
Use Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and various communication systems effectively.
Identify and elevate potential issues.
Maintain clear and accurate records and documentation.
Excellent organization and attention to detail, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
All employment contingent upon successful background check clearance.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
IPC-J-STD 610, 620 or 001.
Recognize and follow processes and procedures.
Remain flexible and responsive in a fast‑paced environment with shifting demands.
Evaluate workload and manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
Proactively recognize challenges or risks and communicate them to stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Occasional exposure to heat and cold.
Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
Kneel or squat to access lower shelves.
Lifting up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
Walking/Moving in the labs.
Compensation Pay range: $24 – $25 per hour (USD). The pay range is not a guarantee; it is based on market research and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
