SRM Concrete
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Batchman to join our team at SRM Concrete. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced, hands‑on environments and takes pride in producing high‑quality concrete products. The Batchman is responsible for managing daily concrete production at the plant, ensuring accurate batching, consistency, and quality control in accordance with mix designs and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Operate batching equipment to produce concrete according to mix designs, job specifications, and production schedules.
Maintain accurate records of all materials batched and ensure timely reporting of daily production data.
Verify material inventory levels (cement, aggregates, admixtures, water) and communicate needs for replenishment.
Calibrate batching equipment regularly and ensure all systems are functioning correctly and safely.
Monitor moisture content of materials and make necessary adjustments to maintain mix consistency.
Coordinate with truck drivers to ensure timely loading of concrete and minimize truck wait times.
Communicate with quality control staff to ensure proper testing and compliance with product specifications.
Follow all SRM safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized plant environment.
Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report maintenance needs promptly.
Assist with training new team members on batching operations as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience operating concrete batching systems (manual or computerized) preferred.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on product quality and consistency.
Ability to read and interpret mix designs and adjust material quantities as needed.
Knowledge of concrete materials, admixtures, and production processes.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and maintain production deadlines.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
Proficiency in or willingness to learn batching software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre‑employment screenings.
