Crafted Highlights As a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator at the Coors Brewery in Golden, Colorado, you will be part of the Plant Technical Services team. You will work at our General Waste Treatment Plant (Municipal Wastewater) or Process Wastewater Treatment Plant (Industrial Wastewater) and be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of our wastewater treatment assets.
What You’ll Be Brewing
Operate and troubleshoot the treatment process, including sample collection, analysis, valves, pumps, motors, and electronics, including SCADA.
Assist lab technicians in collecting samples of wastewater and biosolids.
Perform field/laboratory tests and analyses to identify chemical, physical, and/or biological characteristics of wastewater.
Collect and document data from plant charts, gauges, and instruments; perform calculations to ensure proper plant operations.
Maintain operating records and file reports as needed in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements.
Optimize biosolids removal process.
Diagnose process issues and take corrective actions to ensure proper treatment.
Monitor the basins, making necessary control adjustments to ensure proper facility operation.
Maintain and repair equipment as needed and assist with special maintenance tasks.
Use a wide variety of tools and mechanical repair skills.
Operate equipment such as forklifts and other machinery if required.
Other duties as assigned.
Key Ingredients
Knowledge of wastewater treatment/collection processes and the operation, maintenance, and repair of related equipment.
Computer skills, including SCADA operation and understanding.
Strong attention to detail and legible handwriting.
Mechanical aptitude with mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting experience.
Experience with wastewater infrastructure maintenance.
Background in biology, chemistry, and mathematics relevant to the wastewater industry.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
Equipment operation, including forklift usage.
Capability to perform spot checks on equipment to ensure performance and initiate repairs as needed.
Assist in cross‑training of team members.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
Work environment may be high‑paced and hazardous.
Includes outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, and other physically demanding actions.
May be exposed to fumes, odors, dust, chemicals, oils, and moderate noise levels.
Must occasionally lift 100 lbs. and frequently lift 20–50 lbs.
Education And/or Experience And Qualifications (Required)
High‑school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Colorado Class D Wastewater or Industrial Treatment certification with a minimum of one year experience and progressive responsibility in a wastewater treatment facility or related field.
Aptitude for operating tools and equipment.
