Position Overview
Kiewit Southeast is looking for a Sr. Survey Manager to join our team. The candidate will have sufficient experience to support this Subject Matter Expert (SME) position and be familiar with current surveying and mapping best practices regarding survey collection utilizing traditional surveying methods as well as LiDAR and other technologies.

District Overview Kiewit's Southeast District specializes in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets, and has played a significant role in building infrastructure throughout the fast-growing southeastern United States. Since the 1970s, we have built projects from Maryland to Florida and west to Louisiana. Our operations include highways, airports, mass transit, tunnels, water and wastewater facilities, dams, and infrastructure work.
Location This position is based in the Orlando, Florida office.
Responsibilities
Review client Request for Proposal (RFP) documents to identify the estimating and design survey needs.
Prepare RFP packets for third‑party survey vendors ensuring all necessary deliverables and deadlines are clearly communicated.
Evaluate responses to proposals and prepare recommendations to the project team based on project needs, including skill level, cost, availability, and licensing.
Work with our corporate business group to create Master Service Agreements and Task Orders for the required work.
Act as the onsite representative to the third‑party vendor as they perform their work to ensure they are operating in accordance with Kiewit’s safety procedures.
Ensure the quality control procedures are followed to verify the data is delivered accurately and on time.
Review and coordinate all design survey requests with the selected vendor to meet the design schedule and expectations.
Qualifications
Active Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS, PS, LS, PSM, RLS) or LSIT certification in any state preferred.
10+ years combined experience in Design Survey and Construction Survey.
Strong knowledge of State Plane coordinate systems (grid vs. ground).
Survey background in both office and field operations.
Experience with intermediate-level surveying/design software such as Trimble Business Center, Bentley MicroStation (InRoads/OpenRoads Designer), or Autodesk Civil 3D.
Thorough understanding of drone surveying applications; Part 107 license is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Self‑starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity.
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving/analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team.
Able to carry up to 50 lb.

Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
