Job Summary – Race Sportsbook Writer Provides excellent service to customers who place a bet in the Sportsbook area. Ensures that all customers understand the various types of wagers, displays patience with novice customers, and engages in friendly conversations. Processes all cash transactions quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities – Race Sportsbook Writer

Greets customers; inputs betting information into computer; prints ticket; accepts money and gives ticket and change to customers.

Accurately maintains bank.

Verifies winning tickets.

Handles and solves any concerns and questions by customers.

Explains wagering information when needed.

Maintains and updates betting boards or Televisions for customers to view.

Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

Job Summary – Race Sportsbook Supervisor Responsible for assisting Sportsbook Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Sportsbook, being a brand ambassador for Caesars Entertainment, providing excellent customer service, coaching employees, and ensuring compliance with all departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities – Race Sportsbook Supervisor

Supervises all wagering policies of the Race & Sportsbook.

Ensures all AML & Title 31 procedures are followed and tracked accurately.

Supervises the function of all personnel in Sportsbook Operation, ensuring maximum productivity.

Coaches, guides and instructs personnel in the proper performance of duties.

Ensures Betting limits guidelines are followed.

Remains aware of legislative action affecting business opportunities.

Insures customer recognition and development are foremost duties for all personnel, using tools available appropriately.

Ensures that departmental procedures conform to all regulatory requirements and provide maximum security for the company’s assets.

Assures facilities and equipment are available and functioning properly.

Resolves any disputes by following posted house rules and working with local regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

Sports enthusiast.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and employees.

Excellent verbal and written skills in English.

Ability to analyze financial statements.

Ability to explain wagering to new guests.

Ability to plan and execute departmental budget.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to obtain an MS gaming license.

2 years supervisory experience preferred.

College education with Financial or Business background preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds; lift, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items.

Must be able to walk and be on feet for long periods of time.

Must possess a sense of urgency and keep pace with peak levels of business and customer demands.

Must be able to work in stressful situations with constant public contact and frequent interruptions.

Must possess basic math skills; must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues in a loud, fast-paced environment; must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
