Role Summary The Senior Manager – Employee Benefits and Operations will be a pivotal leader responsible for the strategic design, operational execution, and compliance of all employee benefit programs.

Key Responsibilities Benefits Strategy & Operations

Develop and execute the overall benefits strategy to support organizational objectives and workforce needs.

Evaluate and recommend plan design changes for medical, dental, vision, retirement (including 401k plan administration), and ancillary benefits.

Lead negotiations with carriers and brokers to optimize cost and service quality.

Oversee relationships with third‑party administrators and benefit technology platforms.

Drive Open Enrollment communications and benefit education initiatives.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and 401k/retirement plan compliance).

Serve as the

Benefits Compliance Lead

for SOC 1/SOC 2 audits and internal audit initiatives related to HR and benefits functions.

Create structured HR Operations processes and maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audits and regulatory requirements.

Employee Success, Wellness & Recognition

Design and implement a holistic

New Hire Success Program

focused on first‑year experience, engagement, and retention.

Develop, lead, and evaluate an annual

Employee Wellness Program

aligned with organizational health goals.

Establish and manage a company‑wide

Rewards & Recognition Program

that reinforces performance, culture, and engagement.

Measure program effectiveness, track participation, and prepare reporting for executives.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Monitor benefit utilization, cost trends, and employee feedback to inform decisions.

Build, maintain, and optimize

ADP reports

to support benefits administration, compliance, and ACA reporting.

Create ADP reports for internal HR dashboards including employee attrition, new hires, goal setting, performance reviews, salary reviews, etc.

Extract and analyze employee benefits data to identify patterns in enrollment, claims, wellness usage, 401(k) participation, and cost drivers.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

10+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration and strategy, including experience managing 401k plans.

Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.

Strong proficiency in

ADP Workforce Now reporting

and Excel.

Knowledge of SOC compliance frameworks (SOC 1, SOC 2 Type I & II).

Proven experience in vendor negotiations and plan design.

Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred

Master’s degree is a plus.

Certification such as CEBS, SPHR, or SHRM‑SCP is a plus.

Experience with HRIS and benefits technology platforms.

Wellness program design and compliance knowledge.

Experience developing recognition programs tied to engagement.
