Job Description The Associate Architect will support Real Estate Project Planning and Development (PPD) initiatives across the company’s real estate portfolio. This role supports capital projects, administration of the corporate furniture program (XM1), and space assessments. The position ensures consistent application of architectural standards, corporate guidelines, and regulatory requirements while delivering high-quality, cost-effective design solutions that support operational efficiency, employee productivity, and positive public impact.
Responsibilities
Plan, develop, and implement architectural projects across the real estate portfolio
Review, create, and develop design solutions aligned with safety, operational excellence, customer experience, and cost priorities
Ensure compliance with NYS and NYC building codes, including Energy Conservation Code, NYC Local Laws, FDNY regulations, NYC Department of Buildings requirements, and ADA guidelines
Prepare project scopes, reports, and documentation by analyzing site data, trends, and conditions
Present architectural designs to management and Real Estate leadership; revise designs and costs as required
Prepare cost-benefit analyses, estimates, schedules, and related documentation
Apply ergonomic principles in design solutions
Maintain and approve architectural documentation within the drawing repository system
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, engineers, planners, architects, designers, and consultants
Review and peer-check work from internal and external design partners
Support construction administration and resolve or approve field design changes
Collaborate with management to review and apply corporate standards
Travel within NYC boroughs and Westchester to company sites, offices, and potential new locations
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Additional Qualifications
Strong balance of creative, technical, and analytical thinking
Experience working in regulated environments
Familiarity with corporate architectural standards and guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Presentation and stakeholder-facing communication experience
Professional demeanor with strong organizational skills
Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety and excellence
