Gaming Management, Lecturer/Assistant Professor‑in‑Residence, Harrah College of Hospitality (R0150125)
University of Nevada‑Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full‑time, 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty position in Resort, Gaming and Golf Management, commencing in July 2026. The rank will be determined by education and experience as outlined below.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in casino management, gaming operations, gaming innovation, e‑sports, casino marketing, problem gambling, tribal gaming, and related subjects.
Develop new courses as needed.
Supervise and coordinate the gaming internship program, placing students with gaming companies.
Mentor students and assist graduates in industry placement.
Engage in service at the department, college, and university levels.
Profile of the College The Harrah College of Hospitality is consistently ranked among the top five hospitality programs worldwide. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, a Master of Science in Hotel Administration, a Doctor of Philosophy in Hospitality Administration, and joint master’s programs. The college has 43 full‑time faculty, 9 classified staff, and 33 professional staff, and serves approximately 1,545 students (undergraduate and graduate combined) as of Fall 2025.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree (or Ph.D.) in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field from an accredited institution.
Lecturer: Minimum five (5) years of gaming experience in a management or supervisory capacity.
Assistant Professor‑in‑Residence (non‑tenure‑track): Doctoral degree and three (3) to five (5) years of gaming experience in a management, supervisory or operations capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong and active publication record.
Current and consistent teaching record aligned with UNLV standards.
Interest and expertise in responsible gaming programs, problem gambling, commercial and tribal gaming management, casino marketing, customer loyalty programs, emerging trends and technologies (iGaming, e‑sports, cybersecurity), game and asset protection strategies, internal controls, game mathematics and analytics, and table games demonstrations.
