Job Summary The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Lead is to manage the maintenance, repair, and servicing of facility systems. This role involves executing skilled maintenance and repair tasks on diverse facility systems, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and structural components. Moreover, the Lead is tasked with interpreting blueprints and schematics, applying best practices to maintain buildings and facilities, and resolving recurring issues with machinery, equipment, or components. Additionally, the position entails providing guidance and communication to Maintenance Technicians, assigning daily work, leading small projects, while ensuring quality work is completed by maintenance.
Essential Duties
Detects and resolves operational maintenance issues with equipment to ensure optimal operation of facility and production equipment.
Executes repairs and major overhauls to system components and associated equipment, utilizing original equipment’s manufacturer recommendations and specifications.
Replaces and repairs parts, rebuilds equipment, aligns gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
Rebuilds and replaces motors, gearboxes, hydraulic, and pneumatic cylinders with perfect alignment.
Utilizes illustrated parts breakdown manuals, operational manuals, blueprints or schematics to identify problems and determine repair procedures.
Engages in maintenance tasks involving light to medium weight responsibilities.
Provides mechanical and technical guidance and expertise level I & II technicians to continually improve the education, experience, and skill set within the department (teach/coach/mentor).
Conducts preventative maintenance inspections using all available resources internally and externally to drive machine excellence. Records activities in the CMMS.
Performs Technician tasks as required to meet performance goals and trains new team members.
Performs inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory.
Responds to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner with a high level of focus that delivers quality repairs.
Maintains organization and cleanliness of work area, ensuring no safety hazards exist.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
4 - 6 years of mechanical or electrical experience repairing equipment and heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and other similar systems
Ability to pass internal Technician test with an 85% or better.
Proficient in using standard hand tools, multimeters, and various measuring equipment, demonstrating a strong mechanical aptitude.
Proficient in utilizing machine manuals, drawings, and schematics to diagnose equipment failures
Skilled in operating powered lift equipment like forklifts, wave pickers, and hoists as well as voltage and amperage meters, megger, torque wrenches, calipers, dail indicators, filler gauges, laser tripod and other similar tools
Certification in forklift, overhead crane, and rigging operation or willingness to obtain certification
Competent in conducting preventive maintenance on equipment
Capable of diagnosing equipment issues and malfunctions
Familiarity with OSHA Regulations such as LOTO, Arc Flash, and working at heights
Basic knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrates the ability to work unsupervised, delivering high level of results and solutions to equipment failures and installations
Demonstrates strong reliability and adaptability to changes in the work environment
Ability to manage small projects and execute within designated timeframe
Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
Proactive “self‑starter” with a strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred
Electro‑mechanical experience
Knowledge of PCL and robotic system
Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification
Vibration ISO Level 1 experience
Ultrasonic (UE) Level 1 experience
Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT1) experience
Lean 5S and/or other Six Sigma experience

Inter‑Relationships Consistent interaction with other hourly production and maintenance team members and management.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands Work Environment This position works in a manufacturing work setting. Frequently exposed to seasonal temperatures of excessive cold or heat. Work environment is often loud, dusty and/or dirty due to the concrete materials required for production.
