Position Summary Our Business Development role supports company growth by identifying potential business opportunities, discovering, and pursuing leads, and engaging in client outreach. You will help develop proposals, build client relationships, create and execute sales plans for specific accounts. This is a crucial role as part of our sales team in converting leads into loyal customers. High energy and effective communication skills are required for this role.
Responsibilities
Market Research:
Analyze market trends, competitors, and potential growth areas.
Opportunity Identification:
Identify new clients, markets, or service opportunities.
Relationship Building:
Cultivate strong ties with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Strategy Development:
Create plans for specific assigned existing and new account growth, and sales development.
Proposal & Negotiation:
Collaboratively develop proposals and foster contract negotiations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with Sales, Marketing, and operational Service teams.
Pipeline Management:
Track and manage qualified leads and prospects. *Requires the use of our CRM software entering and managing data
Typical Duties
Attending industry events.
Daily search to uncover leads.
Develop and deliver presentations per the company guidelines.
Monitoring project execution for contracts.
Providing feedback and reports to management.
Key Skills & Attributes
Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills.
Strong business acumen and negotiation ability.
Initiative, self-confidence, and a positive attitude.
Qualifications
Five to fifteen years in the Energy Industry.
Internal and external communication skills.
Willingness to travel – 50% up to 75%.
If you have the following it would be a big plus:
Sales or Business Development Certifications (e.g., Professional Certificate in Business Development).
Specific Experience in Construction Management and Inspection Services (Midstream, Transmission, Distribution).
Preferred – CRM software experience (e.g., HubSpot).
