Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon (VRCCO) is expanding its community presence by opening Ponch's Place, a gathering spot for Bend residents. The Coffee Shop Manager will oversee operations within our specialty veterinary hospital, balancing fast‑paced food service with the compassionate environment of a pet healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily café operations: opening/closing, cash handling, inventory control.
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Coordinate hours and offerings to align with hospital schedules.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy.
Provide a warm, supportive atmosphere for pet owners and hospital staff.
Develop menu specials or promotions tailored to visitors and employees.
Recruit, train, and supervise baristas and support staff.
Create and manage staff schedules for adequate coverage during peak hospital hours.
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Monitor sales, track expenses, and manage budgets.
Implement strategies to increase profitability while maintaining affordable options.
Prepare regular reports for hospital and café leadership.
Collaborate with hospital staff to support events, seminars, or wellness programs.
Promote the café as a comforting space for pet owners during stressful visits.
Source local or sustainable products to strengthen community ties.
Qualifications • Experience in café or food service management in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong customer‑service skills and ability to work in a healthcare setting.
• Leadership skills with a track record of recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and financial oversight of a small business.
• Passion for community building and ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
