The Opportunity As a member of the plant leadership team, the Business Office Manager works directly for the General Manager, with a functional relationship with the Senior Accountant. Works independently and executes independent judgment to provide the right outcome for the facility. The Office Manager onboards hourly and salaried employees, oversees accounting, controlling, and office administration measures, and implements human resources policies and procedures with the support of the Human Resources Leader for the group.

Safety As a member of the Plant leadership team, work to ensure a culture of safety and respect. Engage cross‑functionally to ensure compliance – may be part of training, record‑keeping, audits, and communications of safety.

Accounting & Record Keeping Work closely with Senior Accountant to ensure financial data is accurate and timely, including activities such as journal entries, budget preparation, and financial reporting. Maintain all employee and financial files according to WestRock regulations. Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable. Assist in month‑end closing, journal entries, P&L review, and balance sheet reconciliation. Ensure SOX compliance sign‑off procedures. Supervise and mentor direct reports and assist with customer service, mail processing, payroll data entry, filing, and record‑keeping. Perform annual performance reviews.

Workforce Planning & Support Coordinate HR matters for all employees, lead onboarding, process background checks, verify IDs, set up payroll, and organize orientation. Support hourly record‑keeping systems such as PeopleSoft and Kronos. Support corporate initiatives and GM communications. Work with vendors for contingent workforce needs.

What You Need to Succeed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to coordinate, oversee, and monitor clerical staff; strong oral communication, customer service skills, courtesy, tact, organization, attention to detail, multitasking, and effective communication of policies.

Education and Experience

High school graduation or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years prior office and accounting/booking experience.

3–5 years of supervisory experience managing others.

Preferred: AA or BS in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.

Preferred: 1+ years of manufacturing and production experience.

Technical Skills

Preferred: Accounting software (e.g., JD Edwards).

Preferred: Inventory/data entry system (e.g., AS400).

Physical Requirements Work in an office within the plant environment. Frequent standing, walking, sitting; occasional heights, outdoor and indoor conditions, exposure to machinery, temperatures over 100°F.
