Our Texas organization is looking for Project Delivery Managers who will lead an execution team within the Transmission Planning & Power Systems Analysis business line. This high‑impact leadership role is for someone passionate about building strong teams, delivering high‑quality consulting services, and supporting utility clients as they plan and evolve the transmission grid.

Responsibilities What You’ll Do

Provide strategic and operational leadership to a team of consultants and analysts, supporting the execution of projects within the Transmission Planning & Power Systems Analysis business line and adjacent service areas.

Work closely with managing directors and business line leads to ensure project excellence, staff development, and alignment with company goals and values.

Leadership & Team Development

Provide leadership to the team; direct and coordinate work assignments and review performance to ensure efficient, cost‑effective utilization of staff.

Recruit, develop, train, and retain high‑performing staff.

Conduct performance evaluations, monthly one‑on‑ones, and provide clear instruction and guidance to direct reports.

Promote the Burns & McDonnell culture, values, and mission, along with 1898 & Co.’s traits: tenacious problem solvers, curious seekers, unselfish collaborators, and grit.

Interpret and communicate organizational goals and policies to staff.

Project & Resource Management

Provide expert‑level technical guidance and support for consulting engagements in transmission planning and power systems analysis.

Support profitable growth by ensuring staff levels, loading, and assignments meet project requirements and billable targets.

Coordinate workload for the team and communicate staffing needs to business line leads and managing directors.

Lead and support project QA/QC efforts.

Ensure compliance with company and safety policies.

Strategic & Operational Execution

Implement and support firm‑wide programs and initiatives; lead your team through organizational change.

Achieve stated financial targets and performance standards.

Collaborate with project managers, managing directors, and proposal teams to support business development and secure new work for the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or other related field and 5 years of related experience (Required).

Previous leadership and/or management experience is preferable.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.

Strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.

Expertise in the use of computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
